IWU security officers are working towards organising an industrial conference in Spring 2025. An industrial conference is a sector specific meeting of workers that aims to address and deal with sector specific issues. All security officers in Dublin and from outside will be welcome to attend and participate.

The meeting will run as a half day conference in a Dublin City Center location. The meeting will have a clear agenda of what will be discussed and an opportunity for everybody in attendance to give their input on the nature of the industry and how we can fight for better terms and conditions. 

A representative of the IWU will briefly explain the general organising tactics of the union and leave them for debate and consideration. 

Our goal as a trade union with respect to the security industry is to:

• Advice, support and represent all members of the union
• Provide training to all interested members as to how they can support their co-workers
• Support a focus on collective grievances, an injury to one, is an injury to all 
• Create a member led security officers branch of the union
